Motivation to Moderate Group

This group is closed for this semester, check back for the new schedule.

All groups are free and confidential.

Have you ever enjoyed having a conversation with people your age about drugs or alcohol? Have you ever wondered why so many social environments are centered on drug use or alcohol consumption? Have you ever thought that cutting back your level of use in one or both of those areas would be a good thing? Have you ever thought that getting drunk or being high is something that is expected of you as a college student?

If so, please consider participating in the Motivated to Moderate group. This group is focused on providing support for individuals who are attempting to reduce their level of alcohol or drug use. This group would not be focused on forcing sobriety or abstinence. Instead, it is geared toward problem solving how to navigate environments that are centered on drug or alcohol use, combating peer pressure, and exploring the personal reasons for changing.

In most Cases, before joining a group or class, students meet with the group leaders to determine if a particular group or class is a good fit for them. To set up a pre-group interview, please call 512-475-6923.
