Are you struggling with an unhealthy relationship with food or weight? Do you obsess about food or weight so much that it distracts you from your studies and interferes with social events? Do you evaluate your worth based on your appearance? Do you replay the same hurtful messages about your body all day long? You may be struggling with disordered eating and/or negative body image. These difficulties tend to get worse over time unless they are addressed, resulting in increased pain and suffering for many individuals. Group counseling can be a very helpful way to address these issues. This group will serve to educate its members on the basics of disordered eating and negative body image, support each member in his/her personal exploration, and help members learn more effective ways to cope with feelings and manage behaviors. This group will be informative, creative, and challenging. There will be a weekly topic and ample time for group sharing.
