Level Three
You have reached the most "advanced" level of Stress Recess.
What does that mean, you might ask? It means that you have an awareness of how you manage your stress and anxiety that is probably rather comprehensive. You know that there is "good" stress called eustress, you probably feel that you have a pretty good handle on how you have been managing your stress, and you are probably feeling fairly comfortable with how you've managed things so far. If you were in a counseling session with a therapist, you might be asked, "So given that you know so much about yourself, how can therapy be helpful for you?"
Even though you've made it this far, Stress Recess can probably still be helpful to you. The things that you might benefit most from are the "training" modules listed below. Typically most people don't do all of these things to manage their stress. Why don't you check them out and see if they could be helpful?
Training: Cognitive Distortions
Training: Diaphragmatic Breathing
Training: Progressive Muscle Relaxation
...but probably also the non-training module of Perfectionism could be useful as well - even if you don't think you're a perfectionist!
While you're at it, feel free to check out the Level One modules and the Level Two modules and see if there's something there for you!
Also, visit our links page from time to time. We are always updating it with new information about services at the University of Texas at Austin and in the greater Austin, Texas area.
Remember to Think Small
What's one small thing you can do to reduce your stress? Try it as an experiment and see what happens. You can always go back to your old way of doing things.
