VAV offers training for academic departments, staff across the university, and student groups.

CMHC Voices Against Violence training programs include:

  • VAV 101: A basic primer including definitions and behaviors associated with issues of Relationship and Sexual Violence and Stalking (1-2 hours).
  • Supportive Response Training: Builds upon the foundations of VAV 101 with an emphasis on the tools and resources needed to best respond regarding these issues. This is an ideal training for anyone in a mentoring role (4-6 hours).
  • Trainings that explore the intersection of various identities and VAV issues: For example, the intersection of relationship violence within Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, or Transgender relationships, or the intersection of relationship violence within specific ethnic or cultural populations. These trainings are created upon request with regard to issues a specific group wants to explore.

To schedule training for faculty, staff or students, please call 512-475-6957.
